[LMBTO] Jams, Loops and Eurovision - what's that all about?

Jams?  Loops?  Has this become a food blog?  Not at all - it is just another aspect of enjoying Eurovision that I have found over the last five months!  I have to admit that I cannot remember how I found the first site I tinkered with - This Is My Jam - but I am glad I did.  The site started in 2011 so I was a late arrival, so late that I 'only just caught the train before it pulled out of the station'.  After looking around and seeing that it was a place to put up your favourite songs in video format, something I have always loved doing (here, on "Eurovision Beauty" or "My Favourite Videos blog"), I made the conscious decision to just post Eurovision songs.  My reasoning?

You all know I love Eurovision

AND

No-one else was posting Eurovision songs so I wanted to 'spread the love'!

Now I have already admitted that I started late - about four years really!  So to try to make up for lost time, I tried to post every day - first up was my 2015 favourite on April 12th this year:
And 110 Jams later, I posted my last effort:
Why finish there, you may ask?  The reason for that was not because I gave up posting my favourite Eurovision songs - the site's developers had felt that 'This Is My Jam' had reached it's natural conclusion and archived the whole site on September 26th!  A great shame in my opinion but at least there was now some Eurovision in its TWO MILLION strong archive!  If you want to see what songs I chose and what I said about them, click here.  Richard Hall, a fellow Eurovision blogger, started a bit later and posted a few of his Eurovision favourites, which are here...

Such a great concept for a mix of musical tastes - a gap in the market is always filled and I am currently experimenting with two sites that the owners of TIMJ highlighted as an alternative.  First up, Let's Loop:
This is less 'visual' than 'This Is My Jam' but has a lot of choices when it comes to looking at music in general.  Lots of artists, albums and songs and 'Loopers' (us who submit our choices) can make up their own playlists.  I have to admit that I haven't looked at many other lists or submissions here, as I have got used to being part of the 'YouTube age' and watching videos, rather than just listening to the music - that would be called radio!  What I am proposing to do is the following:

Put all my blog video selections from their inception
(this and Eurovision Beauty)
on Let's Loop as a massive Eurovision playlist!

I'm 36 songs in - it'll be a long haul but it will be amazing to have all my blog selections in one place, easy to play and reference.  I know I could do this as a YouTube playlist but I also want to spread the word of Eurovision!  I have to admit that building the "LMBTO Eurovision's Ultimate List" is my sole purpose for using this website - the direct replacement for TIMJ, in looks and user interaction together with feedback, is a site called "God's Jukebox":
Only YouTube vids can be selected at the moment (it being a Beta site and all) but it is an entertaining way to spend some time each evening!  I have deliberately decided to post ALL of my 'This Is My Jam' choices on this site as I didn't like the idea that they would 'wither and die' in an archive.  I get the chance to put a bit more 'meat on the bones' for each selection, give a bit more information to any other viewers/likers/followers who might like to listen to Eurovision songs - it appears that a lot of the 833 'People' like a wide selection of music, mainly from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and including acts such as David Bowie, Kate Bush, The Doors, alt-J, John Lee Hooker and The Stone Roses!  I have gained/converted three regulars into liking my choices - maybe I will get more as time goes by!

If anything you've read here galvanises you into setting up your own accounts, say hello to me there - I'm either:

Putting Yohanna up above was a deliberate choice - my most popular selection so far for God's Jukebox (and my most popular Eurovision Beauty as well, with about 60 likes across Facebook).  I'm looking forward to others posting their Eurovision favourites, like my choice today for God's Jukebox:

Wonder how many likes this will get?
