[LMBTO] 2015 ends with the Eurovision Top 250 poll...

Did you listen to it all?  Well done if you did, all THIRTEEN hours of it!  I caught the last four hours myself - working commitments and holding onto my sanity meant only exposure to a limited amount of Eurovision goodies was possible.  It is always a great way to spend New Year's Eve if you are 48 years old - too old for clubbing, too grouchy for standing in a sweaty, noisy pub and the television tends to be pitiful anyway, so listening to some of the best Eurovision had to offer is an excellent way to countdown the minutes to 2016!

Why have the sexy, cheeky Tina Karol as the figurehead of this post?  She was one of my choices this year in my Eurovision Top 250 selections, working on the basis of a Eurovision Beauty chart (My 2015 Eurovision Top 250 choices) but she was the only one NOT to appear in either this year or 2014's chart.  When you compare 'Show Me Your Love' to some of the entries in the lower reaches of the 250 chartees, I wonder how her and Mandinga (174 last year, unplaced this year) did not get in the chart but that's just my tastes!  As for my other choices, I'll let you know later on in this post.  I thought that I'd end the year with a quick summary of the chart how I saw it, partly to put my point of view, partly to allow you to not have to sit through it all again - although Eurovision Belgium have kindly put ALL the entries in a 63 minute countdown for your perusal.  It's well worth having a look, even if you just have it as background and glance at it when you hear one of your favourites:

So how did my choices do this year, I hear you cry?  Okay, I know you aren't really THAT interested but I am going to tell you anyway!  As I mentioned earlier, Tina and Elena (of Mandinga) didn't make the Top 250 this year but eight out of my ten did, so here we go...

Helena was the only artist to have two entries in the top 20 - admittedly only just, with Antique moving up 32 places from last year to number 20:

And so finally as part of my final public service for all things Eurovision in 2015, I give you the list of all songs in the Eurovision Top 250, expertly compiled by ESC Radio from 1 to 250.  If we hadn't already had the chart in quick YouTube form then you might have had an excuse for suggesting that maybe this should have been from 250 to 1, to keep the suspense going...as I have other things to do with my life, I'll leave that for someone else to sort out!

Yes, Loreen again for the fourth year in a row - I suppose it is now three years old so I can't accuse anyone of short-termism with this one!  It is still one of the best Eurovision songs ever, definitely one that travelled across into the normal pop world and also well worth another listen - my favourite version was the Melodifestivalen Final one, where we all realised that it was now just going to be a question of who was finishing second in Baku that year:
