Sometimes having someone else take a picture of you and an act gives a far nicer picture - thank you to Russell Davies, one of the people behind the excellent London Eurovision Party and also part of the FYR Macedonia delegation, for taking this of myself and Eye Cue, the next interviewees on my Eurovision in Concert trail. They were another of my 'must haves' and having a picture with Marija and Bojan was a bonus. Business was picking up by this stage and I had a slightly shorter interview with the two of them, due to the line of others waiting for their turn. Even so, it was a real delight to chat to them both - what will you find out?
- Who came up with the name 'Eye Cue' and why was it chosen...
- Will there be more than the two of them in Lisbon...
- How pleased have they been with fan feedback about "Lost And Found"...
- Is it reggae? Is it ska? Or 'different'...
- Does Bojan agree that Marija is the 'glue that holds the show together'...
Go on, have a listen - it was one of my favourite interviews as far as what information I obtained:
Sometimes in an interview with more than one person, I have found that sometimes one takes the lead, whether that be due to language issues or confidence - this chat with Marija and Bojan was a great experience as each of them contributed equally and provided information on all the questions that I asked.
No special question here I'm afraid - I barely had the time I did for the questions I did ask, as Russell was tapping me on the shoulder a couple of times to let others have a go! It was a very enjoyable interview however and if others have more time in Lisbon to expand on my points, I expect them to have an amazingly in depth and yet entertaining interview.
And so onto my next interviewee - I was planning for them to be my first, as I stood by their allotted table at the start of the session. As the minutes ticked by, they were still not around and then I found out that one of the duo (any clues yet?) had to leave as she was protecting her voice, leaving us to chat with the male half of the act. I caught up with him eventually and to say that I had yet another really entertaining chat was an understatement. For an interview to listen to where you are as unsure of where it was going as I was, watch out for my chat with
To me, it seemed as though Eye Cue were enjoying the Eurovision experience and everything that it brings, fans and press attention too, but they weren't prepared to compromise their musical standards and had a clear vision of what they are doing. It was also good to hear that Darko the drummer will be in Lisbon too!
