[LMBTO] "Let Me Be The One" Show 3 - Some Local Favourites...

Above is the lady that to date has been the most entertaining and charismatic Eurovision singer that I have seen live, the ball of energy that is Poli Genova.  It was a lucky 'local pick' for me that saw Poli end up on show 3 of "Let Me Be The One" and I took the opportunity to use one of my photographs from Amsterdam Calling.  I think I will top them up when I see her again at the OGAE UK Eurobash in October...
Show one and two were both pre-records as I had been working on Tuesdays when the first airing of each occured - show 3 was different...
IT WAS LIVE!

I'm obviously getting used to this broadcasting lark, as it seemed to go well - apart from a song playing immediately after a set of adverts when I didn't expect it and a jingle repeat when the playlist skipped to the top, allowing me seven seconds to click it back to the right place (a tip from the station chairman in case of glitches with the ZaraStudio system, which worked a treat), it went really smoothly!  I even 'got out of jail' when I found out that it didn't matter on a live show if you forgot to start Audacity to record the show, as there is a studio log that records the show AND sets all the volume levels correctly.  After editing it for the repeat show on Thursday at 11pm (midnight CET), which is now the time it is always set for (someone else has a live show at 10pm now), and sticking the show on Mixcloud, show 3 is sorted.  If you missed today's show and go to bed early on Thursdays, here is that Mixcloud moment:

The theme of this week's episode?

Favourite songs of those at the station and local people close to me.

The playlist looks like this...

"La Det Swinge" - Bobbysocks!
"All Kinds Of Everything" - Dana
"Hard Rock Hallelujah" - Lordi
"Romeo" - Heavy Pettin
"Su canción" - Betty Missiego
"Gwendolyne" - Julio Iglesias
"If Love Was A Crime" - Poli Genova
"Amar Pelos Dois" - Salvador Sobral
"Beg, Steal or Borrow" - The New Seekers
"Let Me Try" - Luminita Anghel and Sistem
"Nætur" - Sigga
"Te Deum (Prelude)" - Charpentier

Have a listen and you will hear who wanted each song and why - one of them is my choice, regular readers of the blog will quickly see which one that is!
I will be playing at least one Eurostarz interview in show four - the only artist I didn't manage to chat to (and that was the same for everyone) was Linda Martin, as she turned up just after the press event ended.  The other four acts - Scott Fitzgerald, Esther Hart, Lindsay Dracass, Paula Seling and Ovi - were absolute joys to interview and the shortest one I had was 15 minutes long!  I will be posting them here initially but will play one a week on my radio show over the next four weeks, given that September is unlikely to be that busy for news in the Eurovision world.  As for what else might be in show 4?

Perhaps something on this weekend's P4 Nästa Final
on Sveriges Radio might be in order...
