Me, Joanne Powell and Equinox outside Café de Paris in London - the five of them (Vlado, JJ, Trey, Johnny and of course Zhana) were up for photos with everyone who was waiting outside the venue for this year's London Eurovision Party before their sound check and were incredibly popular.  I picked this picture as they kick off this week's show which focuses on
What we know so far about Eurovision 2019

Unfortunately Equinox are there due to the sad news that Bulgaria will not be at Tel Aviv, due to financial reasons.  Here's hoping that they will return in 2020!  No definite artists or songs from anywhere else so far, a pretty slow start compared to most recent Contests but I picked out those nations that have sorted out how they are going to pick their entries, specifically through NFs.  I also wanted to give a tribute to an artist who passed away since last week's show, along with a brief mention to JESC, possibly four minutes more than I have ever given to it in this blog!
This lovely lady gets yet another play this week, as we know that her nation will be using the same route but not with the same artist...we assume!  There are five tracks that didn't make it to Eurovision there too - I am really enjoying the opportunity to play material that isn't just from the Grand Finals of the ESC itself.  Enough of my chat, here is this week's playlist:
"Bones" - Equinox
"Tonight Again" - Guy Sebastian
"The Image Of You" - Anjeza Shahini
"Eva" - Lisandro Cuxi
"Waterfall" - Nodi Tatishvili and Sopho Gelovani
"Í stormi" - Dagur Sigurðsson
"Under The Ladder" - MÉLOVIN
"Have You Now" - Whogaux and Karl-Kristjan ft. Maian
"Domino" - Saara Aalto
"(I Would) Die For You" - Antique
"Save Me" - Wiktoria
"Not My Soul" - Destiny Chukunyere
"The War Is Not Over" - Walter and Kazha

I think that is definitely worth a listen, don't you?  In case you hadn't noticed, there is no "Let Me Be The One" to close the show as there was so much content this week!  A real mixture of tempos and genres for you - here's the show, it was also live for a change:

So next up will be show THIRTEEN - unlucky for some, especially when the show is right at the end of October.  So you know what that means - the day after that show...

It'll be HALLOWEEN!

So we'll have some content from Eurovision that has a link to that night - some really obvious, some only because of associated noises and words linked with the festival.  Now I'm realising that might be a struggle, given that the official Eurovision website did a video a couple of years ago and had to put the 2011 winning song "Running Scared" in to pad things out!  I suppose it is a way of getting Ell and Nikki played but there are more scary or relevant songs than that...
Now I played "Spirit Animal" by Kerli four shows ago - will I have to break my rule about playing a song again on the show?  Is getting through 12 editions enough to change my mind?  We'll see...

I suppose it would allow me to play "Hard Rock Hallelujah" for the second time!
