[LMBTO] "Let Me Be The One" Show 13 - Halloween!

THIRTEEN shows in and it had to happen eventually - I don't have a picture of any of the artists in this week's episode taken by me or with me in the same shot as them!  To be fair, I have yet to meet any of the fourteen acts so I thought that I'd use one of the most striking and iconic poses of Kyiv 2017, the suited man on the step ladder with his horse's head, accompanying the artistic masterclass that was "Skeletons", the Azerbaijani entry sung by Dihaj.  Why this one to start the show off?  What is tomorrow?
Halloween!

Of course it is - the bony undead are a staple of any All Hallow's Eve celebration.  I trawled through all 1523 entries at Eurovision and found a lot more songs with links either within their title or the artist themselves than I thought I would.  When the official YouTube channel tried it a couple of years ago, they didn't get very far but I found 20+ entries:

I have to admit that there will be some of those acts in my playlist too!  Given that I am a radio show host, I concentrated on the audio rather than the visuals, so you won't have anything that just relied on the artist dressing up in some Halloween inspired garb.  Enough chat - my playlist will explain it all far better:

"Skeletons" - Dihaj
"Brujería" - Son de Sol
"Ne Zori, Zoro" - Vlado Janevski
"Angel si ti" - Miro
"Messieurs les noyés de la Seine" - Fud Leclerc
"Spirit Of The Night" - Valentina Monetta and Jimmie Wilson
"Vukovi umiru sami" - Boris Novković feat. Lado Members
"Ghost" - Jamie-Lee
"Lady Alpine Blue" - Mumiy Troll
"Vampires Are Alive" - DJ BoBo
"A Monster Like Me" - Mørland & Debrah Scarlett
"Running Scared" - Ell & Nikki
"Angel" - Chiara
"Let Me Be The One" - The Shadows

Looks good, eh?  A real mix of years and genres there - even one from 1956, the third ever Eurovision entry, although that is more macabre than spooky.  There is the whole range of named scary monsters plus some generic references too - go on, have a listen, you might even get some ideas if you are having a Eurovision themed party and want some more tracks for your gig...

I have not deliberately put a black picture up here - for some reason Mixcloud is not displaying the picture of Dihaj and HorseHead Man above properly - maybe in time it will appear here...or maybe not!
We'll be into November for show FOURTEEN - the 2019 wheels are grinding very slowly but eventually pulling away from the starting blocks.  There will be some more news and music about that in some way - there will also be Eurovision tracks related to an event that will have happened over the previous weekend in the UK involving fireworks and bonfires...

Take a guess as to one track that I'll be playing next week...
Now what is Spanish for 'fire'?
