Christer Bjorkman is so synonymous with that Melodifestivalen logo that even his silhouette is immediately recognisable!  Such an iconic picture - I hope that SVT Melodifestivalen don't mind me using it here as a third of this week's show features four of the artists who will be contending for the Swedish crown in 2019.  Aftonbladet, the popular Swedish newspaper, came up trumps as usual and predicted enough artists correctly that I have already played songs from NINE of the 28 singers in this and previous shows!  Not bad going eh?  It might be more difficult to find material for some of the newcomers but hey, I like a challenge!
The other highlights are that I got to play the new single of the lady above, Lindsay Dracass, "Not Mine", plus passing on my congratulations to a lady who was in Lisbon and revealed some wonderful news last week.  I also got to indulge myself and play my delight of 2018 on the show - you know that is, don't you?  Have a look down the playlist just to check:
"Not Mine" - Lindsay Dracass
"Milim" - Harel Skaat
"Always" - AySel and Arash
"Wohin Kleines Pony?" - Bob Martin
"Running" - András Kállay-Saunders
"Funny Girl" - Laura Rizzotto
"Hello" - Dolly Style
"Hold On" - NANO
"In My Cabana" - Margaret
"Eloise" - Arvingarna
"Stones" - Zibbz
"Izin Korem" - Zhanar Dugalova
"I Love Belarus" - Anastasiya Vinnikova
"Let Me Be The One" - The Shadows

And here is the show itself with one of my favourite ever Eurovision artists giving me a hug:

A nice mixture of songs, styles and even eras (Bob Martin anyone?) - I have to say that I am surprised how into the Swedish process I am already, a NF that I tended to ignore in years gone past.  Maybe the exuberance and enthusiasm that 99% of all other Eurovision fans have for MF has eventually rubbed off on me!  I will be playing some more from those 19 that I have yet to feature on the show, although I'll have to be a bit careful about which song I pick that is linked to a certain petite blonde singer, due to her potty mouth!
I'll also play music from Latvia too - hopefully some of the actual entries for Supernova 2019 but if not, then entries sung by the artists previously.  Eurovision 2019 is definitely picking up speed now and we are actually getting to hear some music that will be sung on the Tel Aviv stage...

About time, I say!
