Even though "Mercy" wasn't my favourite entry at Destination Eurovision 2018Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas of Madame Monsieur provided the French public and Eurovision fandom with an incredible spectacle of the 'arm wave' and a real feeling of watching a duo who really engaged the crowd - this was obvious even at the London Eurovision Party, where this was the best of the pictures I took of them.  Blue suited the song and mood perfectly and my estimation of their chances grew massively after that night.  13th was perhaps a little bit low at the actual Contest itself but they did impress the Eurovision press enough to get the Marcel Bezençon Press Award.  They are on my show this week, as France announced which artists will be singing at the 2019 NF - I'll play some of those nearer the actual SFs and Final.  As for the rest of the playlist, the main focus is on:

FiK 57, Sanremo Giovani and Australia: You Decide (again!)

Albania's FiK has its Final this Saturday (22nd December) and Sanremo Giovani, the youth part of the main Festival in Italy, will select two artists this week for Sanremo itself.  The two other Australian acts announced so far are there too - just have a look yourself...
"Mall" - Eugent Bushpepa
"Ngrije zërin" - Orgesa Zaimi
"Roses" - The Middletonz
"Hallelujah" - Mark Vincent
"Shade Away" - Electric Fields
"I Love You" - TAYANNA
"Finalmente" - Federica Abbate
"Almeno tre" - Giulia Mutti
"Tornerò" - MIHAI
"We Don't Wanna Put In" - Stephane & 3G
"Run Away" - Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira
"Tu canción" - Amaia Romero & Alfred Garcia
"Mercy" - Madame Monsieur
"Let Me Be The One" - The Shadows

And here is the show itself:

There is even one of the more controversial songs of recent times in there too, all because of Georgian Idol choosing the lead singer as a judge!  Lots of nations are moving on in their processes, including Spain, who sent this couple (as they were at the time) to Lisbon:
So hopefully you enjoyed show TWENTY - next Tuesday is a special day:

Christmas Day!

Some radio show hosts would not bother with a show but I will!  As any show that day from a community radio station will be pre-recorded, it will be a celebratory themed week with songs from the Contest about parties, birthdays and some linked to aspects of the actual story itself.  If you get bored watching tv, playing with your gadgets or even chatting with your relatives, put show TWENTY-ONE on and enjoy Eurovision music even on December 25th!  There is one thing I can't promise though...

A Christmas chart hit - Slade, Wham! and Mariah Carey never did Eurovision
although someone on the playlist did both...
