It is amazing who you meet on the pavement outside the Café de Paris - Alexandra Rotan and Stella Mwangi were kind enough to pose with me before opening The London Eurovision Party 2018, in much the same way as they did at Melodi Grand Prix 2018 in Norway!  "You Got Me" was played on week 26 (29/31 January 2019) and it kicked off hour two of my live show today, which was packed full of songs that had been played throughout the previous 51 shows and which I enjoyed listening to.  They would not count as my ultimate all-time favourites Eurovision-wise but I felt that they deserved another hearing.  Song 8 through to 26 matched that criteria - have a look at the playlist:

"Yom Huledet (Happy Birthday)" - Eden
"Hvala, ne!" - Lea Sirk
"Silent Storm" - Carl Epsen
"Tornerò" - MIHAI
"Open Your Heart" - Birgitta
"Amanecer" - Edurne
"Can't Wait Until Tonight" - Max Mutzke
"Sarah" - Kate Miller-Heidke
"One In A Million" - Katerine Duska
"Friday Night Club Escape" - Michi
"Congratulations" (censored) - Silvia Night
"Lighthouse" - Oliver Berkes
"You Got Me" - Stella Mwangi & Alexandra Rotan
"HaSheket SheNish'ar (The Silence That Remains)"
- Shiri Maimon
"I Love Belarus" - Anastasiya Vinnikova
"Päästke noored hinged" - Grete Paia
"High Heels In The Neighbourhood" - The Swingers
"Help Me Out Of Here" - Petruska
"Là-haut" - Chimène Badi
"Por Aqui" - Tracy De Sá
"OK ou KO" - Emmy Liyana
"Occidentali's Karma (radio edit)" - Francesco Gabbani
"High On Love" - Debbi
"Visionary Dream" - Sopho
"Love Enough For Two" - Prima Donna
"Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me)" - Pastora Soler

Well worth listening to, in my humble opinion - here is this week's show:

So that was my first anniversary of the radio show and I now have 52 shows that I am really proud of!  I am returning to them one by one on my podcast and eventually each show will be put on there at the same time it hits Mixcloud and this blog.  Only another 50 to catch up!
Show 53 will be another Interview Special.  Anna Bergendahl is singing at the Eurofest Sumer Party on Friday at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London and I will not only be there watching her but also interviewing her before the evening begins, just after her soundcheck.  That chat will be on next week's show, along with some of her music - I also hope to have the eight songs and artists that will be competing for this year's P4 Nästa title on it too, assuming I can get all of them to play.  At the moment, I have six of them...
Of course the winner of the competition may not be the same as who goes to Melodifestivalen - poor NOOMI has missed out two years in a row, having won in 2017 on her own and with Spring City in 2018, by not being the artist selected.  She will be at the 2019 Final but as a special guest with Annielle and MIAH who make up the band - who will be 'the chosen one' for MF?

The law of averages would suggest that it would be a woman...
Shouldn't it?
