That Song-Along...
One of the highpoints of THAT film...
You seen it yet?
I think I can safely say that 90%+ of the Eurovision fandom have now seen "Eurovision Song Contest : The Story Of Fire Saga" (ESCTSOFS) at least once, with most pleasantly surprised that it didn't rip into the Contest, the majority taking it as a light hearted and entertaining two hours, rather than the small minority that wanted to treat it as a documentary and find all the faults within it. Surprisingly, the critics seemed to have more issues with technicalities of scoreboards, some of the big 5 being in a SF and the numbers of bodies on stage but had no issues with the existence of elves or humpback whales jumping out of water literally 100 yards from the harbour! You will have had a break from my show because of some glitches in the systems and processes at Bradley Stoke Radio - show 99 should have aired last week but show 98 aired twice more, so if you loved the line-up there, you were in luck! It did mean I could write a 'film only' blog article last week, so I hope you enjoyed reading that! Show 99 doesn't have a lot of news but chatting about ESCTSOFS is part of it, as was playing two songs from the movie - you can now, after a week's delay, hear it for yourself:
The playlist? Here you go - Molly Sandén effectively appears in the first three tracks, in one guise or another...

If you include the two songs from the movie that kicked off the show then there are SEVENTEEN new releases in this week's show. Some of those aren't exactly 'new' but have been in my playlist 'vault' for a good couple of months, so I am delighted to have been able to eventually play them. The stand out bit of news for me this episode?

Some of the most memorable outfits in Eurovision history!
Doce, Portugal's 1982 representative, have a film about them too.
I talk about it in the show but as this aired a week later than planned, we now know that the film "Bem Bom" does have a release date, it being November 26th. Hopefully by that time, audiences will be able to watch it on the big screen and possibly even on the small screen by Christmas! Not much else to elaborate on for this show but there definitely is for the next one...

Show 100 will be on July 14th!
My 7th blog anniversary will be on July 17th!
You have until this coming weekend to add your request to those I already have - remember that you can pick:
Eurovision entries, National Final entries or other songs by Eurovision artists
Send your suggestions either at Facebook on the Bradley Stoke Radio page, my LET ME BE THE ONE page or my personal timeline; by email to eurovision@bradleystokeradio.com; and to my twitter account. You now have until July 11th to let me know, as I will start recording the 100th show then - of course, if I get more requests than I have time for, I will play them in future shows and I will be making it a regular part of each episode from now on. I can tell you one lady who will be on next week and that is someone whose entry triggered the start of my blog:
Combining LET ME BE THE ONE's 100th radio show
and 7th blog anniversary is going to be a huge deal...
What a July this is turning out to be!
