Paula and Ovi are on show 151 in relation to the news that TVR in Romania were having a tv debate to thrash out why their Eurovision placings have plummeted over the past few years, with the most successful artists ever for that nation being held up as the gold standard. That 'chat' happened as this show was being aired, so any result of that will be flagged up soon - the vast majority of this week's edition was news that had happened over the past fortnight as I played your and mine Moments of 2021. As I said on the show, it is a bit of a 'fingers up to the EBU' statement and not unexpected, given the way that BTRC have not accommodated any requests from the EBU in the past six months. Chances are that we will not see Belarus at JESC 2021 or ESC 2022 now and that might be the situation until there is a change in government - probably more of an issue for their fans of JESC, seeing they have always been one of the powerhouses.

I never really knew the circumstances of the dispute and the on stage disqualification - the phrase 'artistic differences' doesn't quite cover it, does it? Not sure we will see either of these two at Sanremo 2022 or in the run up to only the third time that Italy have hosted Eurovision...
