"Scarlet Song" and "In Your Eyes" got their deserved plays on this week's show, three nights after we all were singing along to them at The Water Rats in Kings Cross, London. For a lot of us there, it was our first gig since early 2020, so supporting Eurostarz was all important for me and hopefully everything will be back to normal in August 2022! Now the other main news to make up a decent sized chunk of hour two this week was the reveal of the new LET ME BE THE ONE Eurovision Group on Facebook. I have always had a page for my LMBTO blog and the radio show was included in that, with all of my shows were flagged up on my private social media, plus the Bradley Stoke Radio page too. What I wanted the group to be about was a place for those of you who either listen in week in, week out, or who had contributed something to the radio show in the past. It was all set up on 7th October 2020 but it was only on 7th August 2021 that I invited my first guest (Joanne, take a bow)! From that point to now (20th August), the Group has 44 members and that is a wonderful achievement in such a short space of time. At the moment, it is all about introductions - I want to welcome everyone individually, showing off their favourite ESC entry and also playing that on the show. Having that bit happen will take time but five members have already had theirs played:
Stick with the show and I promise that your favourite will be played, albeit with a bit of a wait, seeing that there are so many fans who have joined so quickly. Looking at what has been put forward, there will be a diverse spread of musical genres and entries go all the way back to 1977 so far - hour two of each show will be where these songs get played, so keep listening every week! There is one other thing to say - if you listen all the time and I have yet to invite you, let me know via my timeline or the LMBTO page, and you can then join the others who are already there...
