SEVEN show weeks in a row with Eurovision 2022
and nothing else...
That means we have other news to catch up with!
So we are back to the usual mix of songs that link to the news of the week, plus some new music too - hopefully that will help with any Post-Eurovision Blues you might be having! The reason for Hurricane from 2020/2021 heading this article? Have a listen to the show:

Sadly after five years of continual performing, publicity and minimal time off, the current line-up of Hurricane (Ksenija, Sanja and Ivana) will leave the band later this year after a farewell tour. It sounds as though the band itself will continue with new singers but as far as us Eurovision fans are concerned, Hurricane will be no more. As for the rest of the show, you got the actual Eurovision versions of "SPACE MAN" and "SloMo" that hadn't been played on LET ME BE THE ONE; two different language versions of Vladana's "Breathe"; a catch-up with the American Song Contest that finished its first season just before SF1; plus the favourite ever Eurovision song for a new member of Let Me Be The One Eurovision Facebook Group:
For those of you with the blues already, be reassured that the following nations have already said that they will be at Eurovision 2023:
UKRAINE (obviously)
AUSTRIA
CYPRUS
DENMARK
FINLAND
GERMANY
ISRAEL
NETHERLANDS
POLAND
SAN MARINO
SPAIN
Add Italy and UK onto those and we have a solid base of nations, with lots of regulars being almost guaranteed certainties - I think that we will have a decent sized group for next year. Of course JESC 2022 will be first - less nations in that one but we do have eight with their names down:
ARMENIA (of course)
BULGARIA
FRANCE
GEORGIA
IRELAND
NETHERLANDS
POLAND
SPAIN
Again a lot of the regulars but still a great start and two are already into their selection process (Georgia and Netherlands) - I will be covering JESC in more detail this year, so keep your eyes and ears open for that!
Next up will be the annual Contest for those artists who didn't quite make Turin - it will be my ninth time of voting as part of the UK Jury. As I said on the show, anyone who is an OGAE club member can vote - look out for how your club organises that. June 1st is the absolute earliest that a vote will happen and I will play all 27 entries at some point over the summer but until then, here is a convenient playlist to get your rankings sorted early:
The final point for this week's article is something that relates to show 200 in a fortnight's time, an item that I talked about on the show, twice. I want it to be all about our moments of the Eurovision 2022 season from September through to May (including Eurovision) - to summarise:
- Your moment can be from any National Final, Any Promo Party, any tv programme, any other event and of course at Eurovision in Turin itself;
- It MUST have an accompanying song to play with it;
- Give me an idea why it is your favourite moment; and
- Keep it positive! No negatives please.
Let me know via my DM/PM on FB/Twitter/Insta and your moment will be part of the show on 7th June!
This Saturday, I will be at the ABBA Arena for the ABBA Voyage show - chances are that one of the songs will kick off show 199 and I'll let you know what it was like...
1979 comes to 2022...
ABBA become ABBAtars...
Looking forward to this as much as Eurovision!
