It is that time again!
Voting time for OGAE Second Chance Contest is here...
Rigoberta Bandini is one of the big names in 2022.

We have reached the point of the Eurovision year where the news from the Contest we have just had has faded away and we are still two months from the official start of Eurovision 2023.  That gives us a suitable quiet time to play all of the OGAE Second Chance Contest entries on the show - 27 in total, so no way to play all those on one show!  Basic mathematics shows us that 3 x 9 = 27, so you are getting the show split into three weeks - songs one through nine were on this week's show in hour 1:

And the playlist...

"MONUMENT" - KEiiNO
"Girls" - Roxolana
"Moli za nas" - Marko Bošnjak
"In i dimman" - Medina
"LOVESICK" - Kuba
"Ay Mamá" - Rigoberta Bandini
"Blinded Dreamers" - Eli Huli
"I'm Loving Me" - Rachel Goode
"Ciao Ciao" - La rappresentante di lista
"Muškarčina" - Sara Jo
"Whirlwind" - Sam Ryder
"Loca" - Athena Manoukian & Limitless
"Under The Ladder" - Mélovin
"Шум" - Go_A
"Only Good Die Young" - Dotter
"Moving Like That" - Omar Rudberg
"Not a Sinner nor a Saint" - Alcazar
"TATO KUP MI DŻINSY" - Kasia Moś
"I Need You" - Deuce
"This World" - Saara Aalto ft No Fear Children
"To The End" - YOHIO
"Hungry" - Anna Sahlene
"You've Everything You Need" - Mary Hopkin
"teabag in the sink" - zalagasper
"Let Me Be The One" - The Shadows

So hour one had last year's winner kicking off the show, which also happened to be the favourite National Final entry for some of the show's fans:
Of course that was KEIINO with "MONUMENT", the favourite of Anni, Logan, Victoria and Yiannis.  As promised on the show, you will hear all of the 27 entries plus be able to see them on this playlist:

All songs here are in the current running order and are all live versions (bar those from Czech Republic and North Macedonia that only had 'live video' entries).  Songs 10-18 and 19-27 will follow on in the next two shows, with how you can vote dependant on your own OGAE club (assuming that you are a member!).  I have yet to look at them properly and rank them, so there won't be any clues from me at the moment as to who I think could win this year!
In hour two the fan favourites kept coming, with new LMBTO Eurovision Facebook Group member Claire loving MÉLOVIN's "Under The Ladder"...
For those loving National Final songs, first we have Alcazar with "Not A Sinner Nor A Saint" for Eddie...
Deuce with "I Need You" for Richard and Roger...
YOHIO and "To The End" for Harris...
And Mary Hopkin with "You've Everything You Need" for George.   At the moment there are only six more to go until we are up to date with the favourite National Final songs for all of those who have put forward their choices - it is something that I will continue on the show alongside the favourite ever Eurovision entry picks.  Thank you everyone from making this such a successful series on LET ME BE THE ONE!
As regular readers of the blog and those who follow me on social media are aware, I do like to get a picture or two of artists that I go to see at gigs, concerts etc.  Last Sunday was when I was lucky enough to see Go_A at The Lanes in Bristol with my partner Ellen and LMBTO fans Joanne and Steve.  We had an interesting view side stage and it did give me this great picture of all four members of the group visible (with the help of multiple mobile lights, some cropping and admittedly a huge slice of luck) - Kate loved it on her socials and used it in the band's story of Bristol.  If you do get the chance to see them, do so!  They are amazing live and the timing with what is going on in Ukraine at the moment made this even more memorable.  A few more of the gig:
Never forget the support who warm up the crowd - DJ LEO...
As you can see, the lighting was VERY red - never the best colour for stunning pictures but it gives you a flavour of what happened that night.  At least my selfie with Kate was in normal lighting...
A great night out was had by all and to top it off Taras (keyboard player/sound engineer) remembered me from our interview last year in the run up to Rotterdam:
Thank you to Joanne for sharing that off her phone!  A delightful way to round up the evening and the associated material for show 203.
Show 204 continues the journey through the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2022 running order, starting in Finland for song 10 and making a second stop for song 18 in Albania.  There will be some news alongside that but chances are you will hear more new releases and possibly more fan favourite National Final entries.  One of those ties in with one of the recent winners of the OGAE Second Chance Contest - arguably an entry that could have won Eurovision that year...
Margaret's "Cool Me Down"
will be on next week's LET ME BE THE ONE!
