OGAE Second Chance Contest is up and running...
Sunstroke Project are one of the competing acts in 2023!

Yes, it is that time of year again - June and July are quieter times for Eurovision and therefore playing all the OGAE SCC entries is always a great idea of passing the time!  23 entries this year, five in this show to be followed by six in each of the next three.  You'll end up with this list:
So songs 1-5 were on this week's show, which you can now catch if you missed it live...

And the playlist for the show:

Måns Zelmerlöw & The Agreement - "Running Low" (Radio Edit)

Cláudia Pascoal - "Fado Chiclete"
Sara Jo - "Zlo"

There was one favourite ever Eurovision track to play this week for a new member of the LMBTO Eurovision Facebook Group - Ilanit with "Ey Sham" for Axel...
To think that I was that close to a Eurovision and Israeli legend whilst at the press rehearsals in Tel Aviv - Ilanit still sounded amazing and looked great, 46 years on from her time singing in Luxembourg City.  A superb pick and a worthy show opener...
Moving onto the other news of the week and here are the details for Theodor Andrei's gig in London at the end of July.  Tickets are available via Outsavvy - I am going, as this guy has an incredible voice, loads of charisma and a decent back catalogue.  If Romania's delegation hadn't shown so little interest in assisting him with his Eurovision campaign, he would have done a lot better than second to last in SF2 in Liverpool.  Having listened to the two support acts, both are decent indie bands so I think it will be a great night.  The other item I wanted to put in this week's article was the video by ELDAR - if you were in Liverpool for Eurovision, watch out for places you now know!

I definitely walked past the Beatles mural that is near Camp & Furnace - what do you recognise?
I mentioned this briefly at the end of this week's show - every Eurovision season since I started the blog in 2013 and the radio show in 2018, I have had an article or show dedicated to 'Eurovision Moments' of that 'year'.  Why should 2023 be any different (if a bit later, due to the four interviews in May/June)?  So to explain in more detail...

Pick YOUR MOMENT of this season, any time from September 1st 2022 to now;
Your moment can be from any National Final, Any Promo Party, any tv programme, any other event and of course at Liverpool;
It MUST have an accompanying song to play with it;
Give me an idea why it is your favourite moment; and
Keep it positive!  No negatives please.

Let me know via my DM/PM on FB/Twitter/Insta and your moment will be part of the show!  The more moments you each send in, the more likely I will stretch your choices over two shows - you have until Saturday 22nd July to tell me yours, show 259 (25th July) will be definitely one of them!
Might this be one of the moments of 2023?  The next six OGAE Second Chance Contest songs will be on next week (show 256) and Chérine will be one of them - will she have a chance of winning the competition for Belgium?  The staging might have been very JESC but this is one of the favourites this time out...

Listen in to also hear the entries for
Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Ireland and Ukraine
On show 256 of LET ME BE THE ONE!
