Eurofest brings such great gigs and also superb interviews...
Teya & Salena were the stars of this week's LET ME BE THE ONE!
Sometimes chats with artists are so effortless and feel more like a chat between friends, rather than an informal interview - my conversation with Teya & Salena, Austria's representatives in Liverpool, was just like the former. Whether sitting in the bar/café area of the Travelodge in Vauxhall had anything to do with it, who knows, but this was a very relaxed interview, the whole of which you can hear in this week's show over two parts...
And the playlist:

Apologies for the background music - that is the down side of such a setting but the infectious joy and laughter of both T&S meant that it wasn't a real distraction! It was a lovely chat, covering how they met and their time in Liverpool, even chatting about how Salena was the star of the Green Room! Hearing about their third release and hearing it later on was a bonus bit of information, although finding out that they would be returning to their solo careers in 2024 was a bit sad, although probably not unexpected. It was an interview that I felt could have gone on much longer, they were so informative and open with whatever they said, but sound checks wait for no person! As for the gig that night, they were superb:
The "Oh, mio padre" praying pose was the photographic highlight of the night for me, hearing "Who The Hell Is Edgar?" and "Bye Bye Bye" was a delight and congratulations to the Eurofest team for yet again providing us with an amazing act. Here is to January and the next one - T&S were artist 76 that I have interviewed, so looking forward to #77...
Two big items to expand on from the show - first was Albania's FiK 62 providing us with the names and song titles for their Festival in December:
One of these singers will be on the Malmö stage next May - Kejsi Tola returns but the big favourite will have to be Elsa Lila, FiK winner last December. As the songs they are singing are released, I will endeavour to play them on Let Me Be The One. The other big news was having FIVE JESC 2023 entries on the show - not long until Nice now, so I thought it would be convenient to embed the YouTube playlist of all the songs here:
There are just six entries now to play on LMBTO (including the revamp of the Polish entry) - you will hear most of those on next week's show, #272. One of those will be from this trio that we learnt about on Thursday...
Listen to next week's show to hear "Back To Life"!
