If you've been to the London Eurovision Party enough times, you'll recognise this wonderful lady with her lilac (at least the lights give it that hue) trenchcoat and know instantly what song she is singing! One of the on-stage 'LEP husband and wife' team that is Nicki French (Paddy O'Connell is out the back somewhere) giving it her all with "Don't Play That Song Again", she is in the midst of having recently revealed her new single "On Your Marks, Get Set, Go Away" and is also a day away from her new album "Glitter To The Neon Lights" being released on Monday 19th November.
I've already got my copy pre-ordered and I've listened to the 30 second snippets of the album - I was also privileged to be able to chat with her this afternoon, talking about her new material and also straying into familiar Eurovision territory! The interview will end up on my radio show this Tuesday but I wanted to 'get it out there' ASAP and so here it is - have a listen to a very entertaining lady, even when on the end of a phone whilst waiting for her Sunday lunch...
No editing required - a thoroughly enjoyable chat from beginning to end. It was great to hear that she had a huge crowd at the album launch event in Clapham (the Main Stage Management picture below shows this well) and I am certain that this will translate into lots of single and album sales!
I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of the new album in the next couple of days and listening to "Our Last Night on Earth", that 'different' track she mentioned, along with her recent releases and those cover versions Nicki chatted about. An interesting suggestion to have her present the UK NF - I'd be happy with that too! I'll also make sure that I point myself out to Nicki when I stand next to her whilst having my London Eurovision Party 2019 VIP picture taken with her...
As Sundays go, this was definitely a good one for me:

Having the opportunity to chat with Nicki French
was a Eurovision blogger and radio show host's dream.
