Now that is what happens when the photographer gets you to say 'Curly-Wurly' and takes the picture when you are on the 'Wur', rather than the 'ly'! I vowed for this year's picture that I was going to smile throughout and ignored the photographer's suggestion but this is still a nice picture of
Lucie Jones plus the main subject of this week's radio show,
Nicki French. As you will have seen from my previous post, I was lucky enough to chat with her about her new album, Eurovision and what the future held for her. Apart from that, there is more news concerning 2019 and this lady features too:
The wonderful
Ieva Zasimauskaitė was unable to get her dream for a Eurovision After Party off the ground in the end, the plans for a concert in Kaunas in Lithuania just before Christmas having to be cancelled. Having her,
Laura Rizzotto,
Elina Nechayeva,
Cesár Sampson and
Ryan O'Shaughnessy at the same gig would have been a great event for fans in the Baltic - unfortunately I wouldn't have been able to attend anyway. As for the other news plus Nicki's interview AND two of her songs, have a listen:
The playlist for this week? Less music but worth it to listen to Nicki's wonderful laugh!
Nicki French - "On Your Marks, Get Set, Go Away"
Nicki French Interview Part One
A Friend In London - "New Tomorrow"
ManuElla - "Blue And Red"
Cesár Sampson - "Nobody But You"
Sergiu Bolota - "Un Nou Început"
Alcazar - "Blame It On The Disco"
Birgit Õigemeel - "Et uus saaks alguse"
Ieva Zasimauskaitė - "When We're Old"
Nicki French Interview Part Two
Nicki French - "Don't Play That Song Again"
The Shadows - "Let Me Be The One"
Yet another enjoyable show to put together and yet again a great interview with a very entertaining and fun loving artist who (I think can say for all Eurovision fans) is a superb singer and an amazing host at the
London Eurovision Party. I hope you enjoyed listening to it too...
So what do I have planned for next week - show
SEVENTEEN? No, not
Netta herself - this was the closest I got to her at Eurovision 2018, standing at the end of the table she was on at the start of the
Eurovision In Concert Press Event - but at least one song associated with the process that got her to Lisbon,
HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovision. There is a decent amount of other news to tell you about already plus there might be another interview in hand, although nothing can be confirmed yet - let's just say that it would be somebody I have spoken to before and she is another Eurovision artist close to home...
Who knew that there was a Borg Cube in the UK? Is that a big enough clue? It might not work out so another theme might have to come into play...
Next week will mean that this radio show has been going for a third of a year already...
How time flies when I am having fun and enjoying myself!
