Not the best selfie I have ever taken with a Eurovision star but it was on my old Sony that made everything look like an oil painting in low light, so I should be grateful that I got anything this good with Blanche at The London Eurovision Party in 2017!  "City Lights" is one of the tracks played on this week's show, just before the end of hour one - there is a story connected to that and to the song before from a certain Italian that year.  Both tracks have come back into my mind for some reason after 2019 has finished and totally in a good way.  The second hour is comprised of music that I have purchased and downloaded for the previous 43 shows and yet never got round to playing them, so this week was the week to do so - have a listen:

And the full playlist?

Still some chat about what 2020 news we do have, plus another track from Nicki French's latest EP, but most of the show is playing those odds and sods in my collection!  There are Spanish, Swedish, Cypriot, Russian and quite a few UK entries to listen to, including SuRie's current single that was released on the day of the Jury Final this year.  It is amazing how you can put a show together even when in the 'close season'...
Show 45 next week and I do have about eight other tracks to mop up but I think that I will concentrate on the 2019 OGAE Second Chance Contest, Annalisa being the 2018 champion that I played this week.  24 entries this year which fits very nicely into two hours - unless something else major happens, that is probably what you will be listening to next week.  I will be especially interested with that playlist as I will be one of the UK jurors and be helping choose our scores for the sixth year in a row.  The lady above, Helena Paparizou, was the winner (and my 12 points award) in 2014 when I was juror for the first time - will I manage to select the winner this time?  I can tell you now that my top marks for 2019 will be going to...

I'm not going to give you THAT spoiler alert!
Where is the fun in that?
