KEiiNO at Eurofest
For those of you who were lucky enough to be at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday just gone, you were lucky enough to see the incredible trio that is Tom, Alexandra and Fred perform a ten song set and get your money's worth and more. Having been to three previous Eurofests (Krista, Eye Cue and Anna Bergendahl), I have to say that we were at the top limit of crowd numbers with KEiiNO - lots of heads in the way and once you were in the position I was, there was no way I was going to the bar or the toilet until they had finished! I had a big bonus personally in that I had the opportunity to interview Tom and Fred before the evening started and that 15 minute interview is in this week's show. Before I wax lyrical any more, have a listen to that chat, two KEiiNO songs plus lots of Eurovision music linked to this past week's news:
And here is the playlist - mainly new but the occasional classic tune from yesteryear too...

Interview with Tom and Fred from KEiiNO at Eurofest on 8th November (part 1)

By the way, here is a copy of the set list too (provided by Patrick Mougin):

Hopefully you enjoyed hearing about KEiiNO's upcoming album, the story behind the animal backdrop at Eurovision and whether they would come back to Eurovision. Along with some of my closest Eurovision friends, we also were privileged to chat with Fred at our hotel reception area whilst eating cake and waiting for his early morning pizza, before the band had to fly out to Norway for another gig later that day! A real 'rock and roll lifestyle' for them all - I did pick up on two things though, the first being that he had qualifications in kindergarten science and also that he might be involved in the world's most successful TV dancing franchise in Norway next year! A thoroughly enjoyable night for everyone:

Guess which song they are singing there! Back to the rest of the show and there are lots of new releases and music linked to the news over the past week. For someone who was 'adopted' by Australia in Tel Aviv, I also wanted to highlight the first two artists who were announced by SBS to be participating in "Eurovision: Australia Decides" and so there is music from Casey Donovan:

And Vanessa Amorosi:

We will hear more about them next year and as the other artists are announced, together with the songs they will be singing in their NF, those entries WILL be played on "Let Me Be The One"! So much there in show 66 - what about show 67? There will be some material from this lady, as I will be going to see her play live in London the following Sunday:

I am so looking forward to watching Katerine Duska perform in a small intimate setting like the Colours Hoxton on 24th November - it will almost certainly be different to her 'persona' in Tel Aviv on the Orange Carpet and on stage. The other lady that might make an appearance next week is a young singer whose new release I played last week:
If the chat with her management goes well, Holly Tandy might be on next week's show live, chatting about where her singing is taking her now and maybe find out more about what happened at 'Eurovision : You Decide' earlier this year. The other big news will be the reveal of the 24 artists for Eesti Laul so perhaps I'll be playing some more Estonian songs on the show. Whatever happens, there will be more great music and chat here on "Let Me Be The One"!
