Even the glammest of rock songs can be sung by
any audience member, young or old...
Just watch Wig Wam at Allsang på Grensen!
If you love Eurovision and the artists associated with it, especially those in Norway and Sweden, then make sure you watch Allsang på Grensen, Allsång på Skansen and Lotta på Liseberg over the summer. I do and it helps fill up almost an hour a show at the moment! Wig Wam have been on the most recent Grensen episode in Norway and the band still has it, even if they are a bit older! The Norwegian show is now at the end of its run but the two Swedish shows have a few weeks left - listen to this week's edition to hear all the great artists from those Scandi sing-a-long shows:

We have a couple more nations coming to the UK next year (Estonia and Lithuania) and Luxembourg choosing not to do so, which is not a surprise to be honest. As for where that might be, we now know one city that has pulled out and one that has hit the front but all of that is for next Tuesday's show! The other things that I said that I'd cover in this article include:
Duncan Laurence singing "Arcade" as the favourite ever Eurovision song for Fred; and
My good friend, ESC FAN TV pundit and now LMBTO Eurovision Facebook Group member Eline getting her face seen on the Belgian tv show "Tien om te zien"(co-presented by Laura Tesoro)! She also got seen at the first Het Grote Songfestivalfeest and was on stage with Måneskin this summer. She has also interviewed these guys for ESC FAN TV:
As promised, here is the excellent 'Brussels Airlines Safety Video 2022' by Hooverphonic - it almost makes me want to book a flight just to see it in action! Now before I move onto the event that I will be at this Saturday, I have the link for that really interesting interview with Slovenia's Raiven:
It has the video for her latest release as well - with her distinctive look and her incredible voice, perhaps Slovenia are ready to send something 'pop-opera' to Eurovision? Hopefully it would be fourth time lucky for this peerless mezzo-soprano.
As mentioned on the show, the latest Meet & Mingle of the West Of England Eurovision Society takes place this Saturday. The place to be is at Seamus O'Donnell's in Bristol:
The time to be there is from 12.30pm and there will be at least eight-ten of us (hopefully) within an hour or so of that time, up until whenever you want to stay! I was at the last one (the second of these) and I left at 5pm but others were there until 7! You do not have to be affiliated to any fan group, just have a love of Eurovision and be able to get to Bristol this Saturday - I would say it would be useful to join the Facebook Group and introduce yourself there too! Last time, as it was the end of June, we had all the 2022 entries playing plus a lot more - chat and Eurovision music, what more could you want? Hope to see you there...
Show 209 is special in that it is the closest date-wise to the fourth anniversary of LET ME BE THE ONE radio show! The date of the first one?
TUESDAY 7TH AUGUST 2018
So as you can see, show 209 will be on Tuesday 9th August 2022 and there will be music that is related to special dates along the way. That will include the first show and the shows for year one, two and three - there will also be music related to when I started broadcasting for two hours plus when I moved to my now regular evening slot. Next week's show will also be the start of my new series called
"LET ME BE THE ONE's Nation Favourite"
I'll tell you more about that next week on the show but as a hint of what will be happening...
I want fans of the show and blog to vote on the entries of each nation and pick their favourite! That'll be done through the LMBTO Eurovision Facebook Group and Page and we will be working from the nation that has been at Eurovision the least through to the most, one a week - nice and simple, only one entry to start with, just to paint the picture and no need to vote for this one...
Samira Said's "Bitaqat Hub" has to be
the favourite Moroccan entry
and will also be the anniversary choice
for the 4th year edition of LET ME BE THE ONE radio show!
