If you were there on Thursday 24th November,
you will have had a different view
but the same end result - an incredible gig by Sam Ryder!

It's now been a week, but still great memories of the Sam Ryder concert I went to in London at HERE at Outernet - seeing a full set from this guy, as against one song as I did in Amsterdam at Eurovision In Concert, just shows what charisma and stage presence he has and what an incredible 10 months he has had.  Remember that only a small number of fans knew him from local gigs in Essex and then being on Tik Tok at the start of 2022?  Look at him now - concerts all over the place and soon to be hosting the New Year Eve show on BBC1!  I'm just glad to see him pre-album launch (December 9th) and wonder how different his material will be when I see him again in Bristol next April.  Lots more pictures of Sam and his excellent support Ellie Dixon later on in the article - let's give you the show from Tuesday night:

Five songs connected to JESC 2022, six connected to the artists of Melodifestivalen 2023 - lots of classic tracks from Eurovision and National Finals, plus some information mentioned on the show connected to Liverpool in May:

I have to admit that I probably won't be attending any of the six nights at Fusion but I will be in Liverpool - I'll tell you more about why, probably after New Year.  The other major item, as always, was playing the winning song of the LMBTO's Nation Favourite poll, this time for ALBANIA.  Yes, it was this guy...
By a very clear margin - Eugent is such a nice guy, an superb vocalist and a deserved winner of the poll.  Next week's vote is a special one - JESC 2022!  Let's see which entry fans of the show like this time.  As promised, some more pictures of Sam:
And a little reveal from the concert - where I was standing, I caught a glance at Sam's set list for the second half of the show, as held by one of the security guards:
What I found interesting was the had note about 'artist coming into crowd' - planned by Sam and organisers or just a note as to what happened on the night?  It became obvious which one when I heard that the same thing happened the night before!  I suppose it has to be that way and perhaps seeing notes like that takes away some of the magic of the moment!  What was magic was seeing reveals of songs from his album:
Blue and white helps mobile photography so much - bear that in mind for future gigs!  Having your name emblazoned on the back wall helps when you are support too:
Ellie was superb - so much so that I took advantage of her Insta 'code' to get early bird deals on her first headliner gig in London.  24th May 2023, somewhere in London, ticket already bought - looking forward to that!  I managed to get some nice pictures of her too, together with her helpful lyric board for one of her songs:
But back to Sam - as always, he brought joy, laughter and good nature to his gig.  I am not sure that I have ever heard anyone say a bad thing about him - the concert was great, everyone enjoyed it and left on a high, which made him happy...
If you do get the chance to see Sam live, well you should...
And he is doing all the right things - he was handing out cards for the release of his debut album before we all got into the venue:
Sunday 2nd April in Bristol for the next show I'll be at, looking forward to it already!
S
how 226 will be the last show before the Final of JESC 2022 in Yerevan.  It is already looking amazing and the official album is out, meaning that the final six songs yet to be heard on LET ME BE THE ONE will be played on the show!  There will be potentially another track from JESC too, depending on who wins the LMBTO poll - I will also reveal my top ten for this year.  This singer was my #1 in 2021...
Olena Usenko sung "Vazhil" in Paris and came 6th...
Who will be my #1 for 2022 and where will they finish?
Listen to show 226 to find out the first part!
