Could "Due Vite" give him the Eurovision Trophy in about 5 weeks
time?
Now that is a big question and will only be answered after his performances
at the Jury and Public Finals at Liverpool on 12/13 May. Given that
Sanremo for all Italian artists is really the be all and end all, I am sure
that Marco won't be disappointed either way but at least his Eurovision edit
sounds professionally done and not 'Occidentali's clunky'! It was a
great way to kick off this week's show...
And the playlist?

The final Eurovision version to be revealed was Piqued Jacks "Like An
Animal" that came out on Wednesday. That will be played on next week's
show but most importantly we now have all 37 entries as they will be heard
in Liverpool. As I said on the show, that also means that all you LET
ME BE THE ONE listeners and readers can now do something incredibly
important...
TELL ME WHAT YOUR TOP TEN for 2023 ARE!
The reason for this is that we will have the second LMBTO Eurovision Fan
Chart, spread over two weeks - 25th April and 2nd May. Each show will
cover roughly half of the entries and I need you to either tell me what your
MyEurovisionScoreboard name is or DM me your top ten via Facebook. I
will then collate all the scores and we will find out who is top of the pile
this year. Last year it was this guy:
That was Sam Ryder at the O2 Academy in Bristol on Sunday - Ellen came with
me this time and I know that several of the Facebook group were there
too! Who will take over the LMBTO crown this year? Let's see if
we can get more than 60 of you voting this time!
We are getting closer to Liverpool and the workmen are inside the Arena,
getting it all ready for the tech rehearsals to go ahead before the
delegations turn up. The Guide Liverpool have always been a great source of information and I felt that posting their recent video spoke more than a paragraph of prose ever could! Lots going on in that city - perhaps too much for everyone to do in a fortnight! Maybe the weather being nice will help - it'll definitely be great where JESC 2023 is being held:
Sunday 26th November...
JESC 2023...
Put it in your calendars/diaries!
Promo parties were the order of the day for hour 2 of this week's show and by the end of this weekend we should have heard all but Israel, Cyprus and Greece present their Eurovision entries live. The artists that have impressed me during the footage I have seen from Barcelona, Poland and Israel are:
Blanca Paloma
Monika Linkytė
IRU
Joker Out
Will we get other artists join this group during our time in Madrid, Amsterdam and London? Keep watching YouTube and the news sites, plus perhaps be at some in person - I'll hopefully see some of you in Amsterdam!
Last week I told you that I'd be playing the title track from Iana Kovalova, friend of the show, member of the LMBTO Eurovision Facebook group and also someone who I count as a personal friend. You heard "No Regrets" this week - on next week's show 244, you are going to hear not only more of her back catalogue and the rest of the EP but also...
Tune in to hear about Iana's debut EP, her time as a technical stand-in singer in Kyiv, being on Swedish Idol, writing a song sung at Vidbir, being on this year's Vidbir longlist and also interviewing artists via OGAE Ukraine. We are both looking forward to chatting to each other - hope you'll listen to us chat too on next week's show!
An in-depth interview with her about her career to date!
